"Music Notes"

Music Notes is a column that focuses on Christian Music & Entertainment. I'm have been writing my "Music Notes" column for over 5 years.  My column originally started in the Mid-South Christian Banner, now known as the "Mid-South Christian World," which has a readership of over 100,000.  Since I've begun to syndicate my column in Memphis, Ohio and Michigan the readership is over 1,000,000.

I’ve covered such artists as Carman, Kirk Franklin, Steven Curtis Chapman,Take 6, CeCe Winans and Nicole C. Mullen; as well as topics ranging from Napster, Music CaresÒ and “Have Gangsta rappers gone Gospel,” to events like the Dove Awards.  I have enclosed and marked a couple of articles for your review.

It’s been a true blessing over the past five years to share with my readers the heart and ministries of the artists I’ve interviewed.  We’ve tackled some difficult subjects, but always with tact and finesse - while at the same time being informative.  If you would like to see some of my articles Click Here.

 Dossier of Carol Yvonne Sherrod

GENUINE   ability manages to shines through even in the most adverse conditions.  Starting at age twelve, Carol Yvonne Sherrod showed the poise and desire necessary to succeed in her first vocal competition.  She has since continued performing by making appearances in plays, musicals and as a solo vocalist.  Carol channeled her incredible, unbridled energy into a more specific focus through her study of theater, dance, and business.  Thanks in part to her positive attitude. Carol has been able to parlay her talent and energy into a harmonious singing career.

After College, Carol began singing full-time; she believed secular music to be the correct path. She soon found that secular music didn’t full fill her and that her energy was misplaced; her priorities misguided, she decided to take some time off to re-evaluate her career choices.  It was during this time that Carol remembered the peace and the joy she felt singing Inspirational Music and decided to pursuit this avenue fulltime. Since then she has been blessed with an opportunity to sing at a Billy Graham Crusade and Focus on the Family’s National Bike Ride.  In addition, she has a syndicated column called Music Notes, which is syndicated in several newspapers including Memphis, Ohio and Michigan.  She is also working on two books, one on healthy eating and the other a collection of celebrity interviews.  Moreover, her single “Just Over the Rainbow” will be entered in the Cannes Film Festival via the entry of the upcoming movie “Esther.”

It Has Been Said  that Carol’s rendition of a song conveys a subtle message from her soul that is both warmly familiar yet refreshingly different. True talent somehow always prevails but Carol’s deepest desire is to inspire, encourage and empower her listeners with her Contemporary Inspirational music.
