Manufacturer's Recall
12-5-2002

The Maker of all human being is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to the serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart.  This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code name Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units.  This defect has been technically termed, "Sub-sequential Internal Non-morality," or more commonly know as SIN.

Some other symptoms:

  • Loss of direction

  • Lack of peace and joy

  • Depression or confusion in the mental component

  • Foul vocal emissions

  • Selfish and violent behavior

  • Amnesia of origin

  • Fearfulness

  • Rebellion

The manufacturer, Who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this SIN defect. The repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs.

A Letter from Satan
8-15-2002

I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores.  You awoke without kneeling to pray as a matter of fact, you didn't even bless your meals, or pray before going to bed last night.

You are so unthankful, I like that about you. I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of living, fool, you are mine.

Remember, you and I have been going steady for years, and I still don't love you yet.  As a matter of fact, I hate you, because I hate God.  I am only using you to get even with God.  He kicked me out of heaven, and I'm going to use you as long as possible to pay Him back.

You see, fool, God Loves You  and He has great plans in store for you. But you have yielded your life to me, and I'm going to make your life a living hell.  That way, we'll be together twice.  This will really hurt God Thanks to you, I'm really showing Him who's boss in your life.  With all of the good times we've had we have been watching dirty movies, cursing people out, stealing, lying, being Hypocritical, fornicating, overeating, telling dirty jokes, gossiping, backstabbing people, disrespecting adults and those in leadership position, no respect for the church, bad attitudes; surely - you don't want to give all this up.

Come on fool, let's burn together forever, I've got some hot plans for us. This is just a letter of appreciation from me to you. I'd like to say "Thanks" for letting me use you for most of your foolish life. When you are tempted to sin, you give in  (Ha Ha Ha) you make me sick.  Sin is beginning to take it's toll on your life.  You look 20 years older, and now, I need new blood. So go ahead and teach some children how to sin. All you have to do is smoke, drink, cheat, gamble, gossip, fornicate, and live being as selfish as possible. Do all of this in the presence of children and they will do it too.  Kids are like that. Well, fool, I have to let you go for now.  I'll be back in a couple of seconds to tempt you again.  If you were smart. you would run somewhere, confess your sins, and live for God with what little bit of life that you have left.

It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be your age and to be this stupid, well - it's becoming a bit ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I still hate you....It’s just that you'd make a better fool for Christ!

P.S. --  If you really love me, you won't share this letter with anyone.

YOUR FRIEND SATAN

The Father
5-25-2002

The names God and Jehovah were adequately revealed to man in the Old Testament, but not the name Father. In Old Testament times, God's people mainly knew that God was Elohim, that is, God, and Jehovah, that is, the ever-existing One, but they did not know much about the title Father. God is His name for creation, and Jehovah is His name for the relationship between Himself and man.

The name Father is very much related to the divine life. Without having the divine life, God could never be the Father. How is it possible for a man to be a father? Only by his life. If you do not have life, you cannot be a father. A father is a producer. A father does not produce by manufacturing but by begetting. A father has a begetting life. Without that life, a man has no reality of being a father. Remembering that the Father has the divine life for begetting, propagating, multiplying, and bringing forth many sons will help us to understand the Gospel of John much better. If a man is unable to beget children, he is not a father... Consider how many children our Father has. He not only has hundreds of children but millions of them. What a great Father He is! What propagation of life there is with Him.

Galatians 4:6 -- Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father!

Bible Study
11-5-2001

There was a group of women in a Bible study on the book of Malachi.  As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three which says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."  This verse puzzled the women and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God.  One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study.  That week this woman called up a silver-smith and made an appointment to watch him at work.  She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest in silver beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver.

As she watched the silver smith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up.  He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as  to burn away all the impurities.  The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot- then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.  She asked the silver-smith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.  The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire.  If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment.  Then she asked the silver-smith, how do you know when the silver is fully refined?"  He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy-when I see my image in it."

So if today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you.  He is looking for His image in you!

Stay Focused
8-15-2001

Sometimes we all struggle with being selfish.  It's our sin nature.    But, have you ever thought that there are times when it is a good thing to be selfish?  This is a concept that I have struggled with a lot recently. God has been telling me that it is time to be selfish.  This mind-set seemed to contradict everything I had ever read until, God lead me to a book named the "Pray of Jabez."  This prayer is located in I Chronicles 4:9.   This prayer taught me that I was not being selfish but that I was focused.   I learned  that the only way that I could help others was to be stay focused on my needs.   I also learned that it was not a sin to be selfish/focused.

For example, how can I help put food on my neighbor's table if I have not focused on getting a job for myself to feed my family.  Or how can I go out and minister aboard when I won't  minister in my own country.   Furthermore, how can I focus on someone elses ministry when the ministry that God has called me to is falling apart.

We simply need to stay focused on the things God has made us responsible for before we assist others.  Once you know what God's will is for your life get started on it. Pray the prayer that Jabez prayed -- "God bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me."   Could it be that God wants us to pray selfishly?  We have got to understand that we need to focus our requests like a laser on our wanting for ourselves nothing more and nothing less than what God wants for us. 1

One of the main things that I learned is that "Great men of faith think differently." 2

Isn't it time for you to think differently?

Go Deeper
06-01-2001

I read in a program booklet from a recent Carman concert that his motto is, “If you deepen your ministry, God will broaden it.”  After I pondered on this for a while I realized that we all have a ministry of some sort.  Whether it be to our children or to people at work or a ministry at church. This left me with the question of how do we go deeper in your ministry?  We do it by simply taking a little step of faith. For example, God lead me back into music four years ago after a long sabbatical.  He made it clear that this time around He wanted me to do Christian Music instead of the secular music I had done before.  However, I felt that I wasn’t good enough to have a ministry especially after all I had put God through.  I would be better off just sitting under my Pastor until I felt I was good enough to have my own  ministry.  Well, you know what that meant – I would never have a ministry. Why you ask?  Because I would never be good enough in my own strength, and that is exactly what the enemy wanted me to think.  However, with God I can do all things.  He didn’t call me because He thought I was good enough, but because I had faith enough.  As a result I could handle anything He brought my way as long as I relied on  Him for my strength.

Therefore, if God is leading your ministry in a certain direction-just go! Don’t let the laughter or doubts of those around you stop you keep from following God’s leading.  If your ministry is praying your child off drugs and everyone is telling you to give up on them, keep on praying anyway.    On the contrary, if you are a pastor of a church and it looks as though your church is not growing or prospering – keep on preaching anyway.  Remember God will never start a work in you that he can’t finish.

Likewise the deeper you dig into the word of God and obey the task He’s given you, He will definitely broaden your ministry and allow you to accomplish things that can only be done with Him.
